
BIOGRAPHY
Steven Zakari is a New York born and raised comedian, writer and producer.
Steven started stand up in a quite unconventional way. in 2014, he hosted and performed around the countRy at various comic and anime conventions.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2015, STEVEN STARTED PERFORMING ON bigger stages. His QUICK WIT AND unique way of story telling got him booked to perform AT Abu Dhabi’s first ANIME AND GAMING Convention, “ANI:ME” in 2016. The success of this event led him to writing, producing and performing in a MULTI-night sold-out cabaret series IN THE USA’S biggest anime convention, anime expo.
in 2018, zakari started branching out into the comedy SCENE. Performing all over Los Angeles and parts of San Diego and San Francisco, Steven was honing in on his craft. in the ladder part of the year, from production assistant to producer, zakari started working his way up in television. some of his PRODUCER credits include Netflix’s “Coming out colton,” AND Facebook watch’s “JOJO GOES…” and more.
in 2021, steven produced and hosted his own two season comedy podcast called “Sorry I missed your call,” where HE would call his friends TO CATCH UP AND GAB about specific topics. SOME OF HIS guests included Jonathan bennett (Mean GIRLS), Michael Henry (WISH YOU WERE QUEER), FENA BARBITALL, ARISCE WANZER and many more. zakari also wrote and sang the theme song to the podcast, produced by markaholic.
OFF SET, Steven PRODUCED a SUCCESSFUL monthly queer comedy show CALLED FROOT BASKET. in it’s 2 year RESIDENCY in downtown los angeles, STEVEN and his ensemble of queer comedians and drag performers would PERFORM AND RAISE AWARENESS FOR REACHLA, AN ORGANIZATION ENGAGING, empowering, and celebratING LGBTQIA+ people of color and their communities.
zakari made his television debut in 2023 on “onlyfans presents: LMAOF LOS ANGELES.” He has also written and produced several sketches for QUEER companies such AS scruff and mistr.
recently moved back to new york, steven is gearing up to release his first comedy album.
